Socio-economic impact

This dimension of the system of indicators is intended to reflect the impact of knowledge-based activities on the development of society and the economy. General indicators of the economic and social progress in countries and regions are used for this purpose. However, it should be taken into account that these indicators are also influenced by many other factors, and thus it is not possible to identify a direct cause-effect relationship between them and the degree of use of knowledge.

This set of indicators is structured into four groups: growth, external competitiveness, welfare and environmental sustainability.
